WaterFire Sharon PA & More Things to Do in Mercer County

This special bi-annual event celebrates art and community, fostering a sense of unity and engagement among attendees. WaterFire Sharon draws both residents and tourists from near and far to downtown Sharon. The event’s programming includes live performances, interactive art installations, and food vendors, providing a rich and immersive cultural experience highlighting the city’s vibrant arts scene.

Along with the main event, there are plenty of things to discover at WaterFire Sharon

  1. Art Market: Supporting local artists, you’ll find treasures ranging from one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry, pottery, and woodworking to glass or fiber art, painting, photography, or mixed-media works. Peruse the line of tents filled with beautiful artwork, as well as live demonstrations from the artisans themselves—including spray paint art by Charli Cupan. 
  2. Food Court: You’ll find a fantastic selection of cuisines and treats at the festival, including Southern BBQ, hearty sandwiches and sides, sweet treats, and beverages. Grab something to go for a snack while you watch the show! 
  3. River Festivities: There are many talents involved in WaterFire Sharon. The evening will begin with the Native American Blessing of the Shenango River by Leon Briggs, an ordained spiritual leader of the American Metis Aboriginal Association, as well as performance artist Jimmy Pyro, who uses fire and sound to astound audiences with his dramatic shows. 
  4. Downtown Art Installations: Starting from the Literary Garden at Shenango Valley Library, walk through Random InterFace Alley, visit the Floral Garden Gallery on Connelly Blvd, and enjoy Willow Way and five wood carvings from ash trees at Riverview Gardens Park. Don’t miss the HopeCAT Mural on State Street. These art installations add vibrancy to our charming small town! 
  5. History Walks: Join the Sharon Historical Society for a glimpse into the past of the town of Sharon and its popular landmarks and structures.
